I took up triathlon with essentially zero swimming background when I moved to Kailua- Kona, Hawaii in 2017 for a traveling physical therapist position. It was a steep learning curve, but after quite a bit of work I was offered a slot to the 70.3 World Championship in 2019. I wasn't able to accept my slot but will work to qualify again! I am currently a physical therapist working out of the athletic training facility at Wartburg College in Waverly, Iowa, 90 minutes from the family farm I grew up on. Being a physical therapist, I love to promote health and human performance and triathlon offers a great platform for this.
