I am originally a rower who used cycling as a cross training method. I quickly fell in love with the sport and decided to take it more seriously. After one season of recreational training, I decided my next season would be competitive, setting my sights on Canadian road nationals.
Under the guidance of my coach, I began structured training starting in October 2018 to prepare for my goals. After a long hard winter of indoor training, I increased my FTP from 380watts to 415watts. I then represented Lorneville CC and was the only New Brunswick rider in my category. I finished first place in 3 races (Falmouth Flyer, Keji Circuit race, and PEI provincial championships).
I had to opportunity to attend larger races in Quebec such as GP Charlevoix and Canadian Road Nationals. In both races i placed in the top 25%, finishing ahead of riders on professional UCI teams. These races have motivated me for my next seasons goals of a top 5 in the time trial at road nationals, and top 15 in GP Charlevoix GC.
