|Bucket List Race||Ironman world Championship , escape from Alcatraz|
I am embarking on my 4th year of triathlon having just gone sub 5 hrs at Calgary 70.3 in 2019 and toughing out soft sand run of Superfrog 70.3. During Covid I have switched focus and will be completing a 50km Ultra trail run in Edmonton on the 10th June.
2019 was the most rewarding year and I want to keep that going post Covid. 2020 I signed up with Tridot coaching as one of their ambassadors to take it to the next level when we return to racing. I want to race either of the world championships in 2021. I have had unique opportunity for the last 12 months as a stay at home dad with my 2 year old boy and 5 year old daughter. Balancing family, triathlon and work life can be difficult but so far I have completed 6 x 70.3s and countless other small triathlons, lost more than 30kgs from my pre children weight, and I am a much better husband and father. I may not be front of the pack yet, but I still want to promote the benefits of getting out there, being rad, and consistently pushing your limits.
The bike is my best discipline, and I feel I can really showcase flo cycling and do the brand justice. The Tridot scoring system.ecaluates my bike with a score of 82 out of 100, where 100 would be pro level. FTP is presently 342w and only getting stronger.
With the return of racing I want to step up to full Ironman distance and see what I am capable of there. I have been refining my 70.3 speed to be close to 4:40 and want to translate that to a sub 10hr ironman.
