I Dyrone Minors, started in Triathlons in 1983. During the time the sport was still young to many people, but whoever live on the West Coast, that was their Sport. Like many people, I saw the Ironman on ABC WIDE WORLD OF SPORTS, I saw that was cool! Not until 1983, while on break from school and in Florida, I saw Dave Scott, Scott Tinley do battle along with Scott Molina on tv. I was hooked.
I trained that summer of 1983 and later that year, in September. I did my first Triathlon and placed 6th.
I have a long history in the sport and later met Dave and Tinley, who I befriended until this day.
I raced Ironman, my first timer in 1986 and went back to Kona and race a few times after. I race in the south of France, in Nice, France twice. The sport has taken me global, the sport was a great teach of life for me.
I moved to Boulder, Colorado in 1997 and worked at INSIDE TRIATHLON MAGAZINE, for awhile and later stayed and became a parent. I live in Bermuda at present. But will move my family back to Boulder, for a healthy and active way of life.
I stop competing a year before Covid, my goal is to return compete again with some travel, in Triathlons and Trail Racing.
