Bucket List RaceI never got around to competing in an Ironman. I wouldn't mind knocking one off soon...
Post-Race DrinkWhatever they have at the finish line - but I usually reach for Gatorade when it's available
Off-Day ActivityCatching up on R&R/spending time with my family. Free time is hard to come by these days!

I am a long-time endurance athlete, multisport coach and health education teacher. I began my athletic life as a youth runner and have been training and competing in a wide variety of endurance sports for the past 37 years (ouch!).

I began competing in triathlons way back in 1995 and won my first half iron distance triathlon at the young age of 20. I went on to record 2 WTC Ironman 70.3 AG world championships, taking the M30 - 34 AG title in the inaugural 2006 event and following it up with an overall Ironman 70.3 World Championship title in 2007 before turning pro/elite for the 2008 season.

I went on to record numerous pro/elite podium finishes throughout the 2008 and 2009 seasons before walking away from triathlon for the past decade due to multiple deaths in the family, marriage & starting a family, buying a fixer upper house, etc.

I have served as a cycling and multisport coach since 2000 and have produced countless Ironman 70.3 AG champions, regional and national CX and cycling champions and have worked with a number of pro-elite athletes from a variety of sports along the way as well.

My primary occupation is that of middle school health education teacher. I have been working with middle school students since my undergraduate days at the University of Massachusetts (class of '99) and take great pride in teaching kids of this age about the importance of living a well balanced, healthy life. I find tremendous value in helping to foster the personal development of the students under my charge and enjoy the fact that my exploits as an athlete allow me to live by example and make my message more sincere.

Although I have not competed as a triathlete for the past decade, I have stayed very fit over the years and have enjoyed training and competing in sports such as surfski, mountain biking and mixed terrain/gravel riding.
